How to Get Started on the Clin-STAR Database

  1. Register for the Clin-STAR Database using the sign-up form here. Once you have registered, you will receive an email to activate your profile within one business day. Please note the registration will not immediately result in being able to activate your profile. If you have already completed the form and did not receive an email about activating your profile, please reach out to the Clin-STAR Coordinating Center.
  2. Activate your account and create your password. Your activation email will arrive with the subject line “Your Clin-STAR Database account has been created.” Again, if you do not receive this email within one business day of registering for the database, please reach out to the Clin-STAR Coordinating Center. Please click the link in your activation email and follow the instructions to create your password.
  3. Review your profile. Your profile will be populated with information you provided in your sign-up form. To navigate to your profile while you are logged in to the database, hover over your name on the top right corner of the page and click on My Profile. Your profile has a section at the top with basic information, and then several sections at the bottom with more detailed information about your research, publications, and more. Please note that if you do not fill out a section, it will not appear for visitors of your profile.
  4. Update your profile. Choose a section you where you would like to add or change information. To add new information, click on the grey circle with a plus sign next to the section heading. To edit existing information, click the grey pencil next to the entry. For a brief introductory video on editing your profile, click here.
  5. Make your profile public. Click the green button on your profile labeled Make Public. This will direct you to a brief series of questions that will help you connect with other database users. Please respond to these questions before making your profile available (you can always update your responses later – responses will be in a tab on your profile labeled “Other”).
