The development and design of all Clin-STAR activities is overseen by three Cores
Leadership Core
The Leadership Core is responsible for strategic planning, organization, sustainability, evaluation, resource allocation and ensuring the success of the Clin-STAR objectives.

- Organizing the Clin-STAR Annual Meeting
- Conducting annual and overall evaluations
- Managing the Distinguished Professor program
- Publication initiatives
- Oversee development of Journey Stories
Mentoring and Career Development Core
The Mentoring and Career Development Core connects junior investigators with mentors and career development resources.
Activities:
- Clin-STAR database
- Identifying mentors at all career stages
- Providing career development webinars
- Hosting Office Hours
- Visiting Professor Fund
- Early Career Lecture Series
Research and Dissemination Core
The Research and Dissemination Core coordinates outreach among investigators with shared research interests and provides aging research information, resources and tools.
Activities:
- Issuing the Annual Aging Research Development and Training Awards
- Overseeing the Mini-Sabbaticals
- Providing access to expertise on research design and implementation
- Promoting activities in high priority areas, including multimorbidity, ADRD, and geroscience
- Providing access to expertise on research design and implementation including study conceptualization, integration of data management and biostatistics.
- Developing and supporting content-focused interest groups
