Clin-STAR Webinar
Overview and Advice for Applying to the NIH Loan Repayment Program
Monday, September 13, 1-2pm ET
Are you interested in applying for the NIH Loan Repayment Program (LRP)? Do you need more information on the different mechanisms within the program, how to apply, and what reviewers will be looking for in an application? On September 13, 2021, the Clin-STAR Coordinating Center hosted a webinar to provide a high-level overview of the LRP as well as advice and information for developing a successful application. Watch the webinar here. View Dr. Kimberly Firth's slides from the webinar here.
The goals of this webinar were for our audience to:
- Learn about the LRP
- Understand the application and review process
- Gain insight into what reviewers look for in a successful application
Kimberly Firth gave a presentation describing the LRP including the different mechanisms within the program as well as information on the application and review process. Next, Harvey Cohen provided his perspective as a reviewer of LRP applications. Finally, recent LRP recipient Jason Flatt discussed his experience applying for the program. The webinar concluded with a Q&A.
This webinar was held on September 13, near the beginning of the Online Application Period for Extramural New & Renewal Awards from September 1 to November 18, 2021. To learn more about the LRP, visit lrp.nih.gov.
